Q: Who is covered by an IDShield Plan?


A: IDShield Individual Plans cover the participant (employee) only. Family Plans cover up to 8
adults, including:

  • The participant (employee)
  • Spouse/domestic partner
  • Parents/parents-in-law/stepparents
  • Dependent children under age 18
  • Dependent children over age 26 who are physically disabled or mentally incapacitated.
    Dependent children over the age of 18 and parents of the participant or participant’s
    spouse/domestic partner are eligible for consultation and restoration services only. Monitoring
    services are not available.

A: We provide a first-class social media detection and clean-up service, helping you improve your
online appearance. Additional features include a reputation scan of common social media
platforms, a reputation score, and a Google Search tool that helps you remove your personal
information from data broker websites and out of search engine results.


Q: How long does it take to resolve identity theft concerns?


A: IDShield identity theft specialists resolve 96% of identity theft issues in an average of 2 hours.
Our Licensed Private Investigators resolve the remaining matters in an average of 55 days.


Q: What information can I access through IDShield’s Member Portal?


A: Participants can access the tools for adding information to be monitored (including family member
information if enrolled in the family plan) and tools for monitoring credit information, protecting their
online privacy, and reputation management services.

  • Credit Score Tracking
    The “what” of a credit score and the “why.” Credit scores are updated monthly.
  • Financial Threshold Monitoring
    Search by bank and add financial accounts for monitoring. A separate threshold limit can
    be set on each account.
  • Dark Web Monitoring Services
    IDShield continually scans the dark web for Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to
    detect identity theft in its earliest stages.


Q: How do IDShield members submit a service request?


A: Members can submit a service request through one of four ways:

    You can swiftly connect with an experienced identity theft professional by submitting a
    service request via phone. A quick phone call allows you to request assistance, schedule
    consultations, or check the status of your request. This option provides an immediate,
    personal interaction with an IDShield representative, ensuring you receive the support you
    need without delay.
  4. Email
    Participants also have the option to submit service requests via email, offering a
    convenient and flexible written communication method. This option lets you provide
    detailed information and communicate quickly, with prompt follow-up from an IDShield
    professional.


Q: How do IDShield members create an account and enroll in the plan?


A: Follow these steps to use your IDShield Benefit.

  1. Create your IDShield Account
    Create your account at access.legalshield.com. If you already have an account, sign in.
  2. Verify your identity
    Select IDShield from your Member Portal and click "Start" to answer your identity
    verification questions.
  3. Add your information for monitoring
    Once you verify your identity, you can add the personal information you want to monitor,
    including your social media accounts.

enrolled in the IDShield Family Plan, you can add your spouse and dependents in the “Account”
section of your IDShield Member Portal.

Q: How would I put anti-malware protection services into use?


A: IDShield’s Maximum Security protection from Trend Micro uses cloud-based AI technology to
deliver highly effective and proactive protection against ever-evolving malware infections. As part
of this protection, we provide tools that limit access to important files and folders. We can prevent
ransomware from maliciously encrypting these files and a protected web browser that adds an
extra layer of protection when banking or shopping online. IDShield safely stores participants’
sensitive files inside a password-protected storage vault. IDShield scans webmail on Google
Chrome for malicious email links and attachments sent to popular services such as Gmail,
Outlook or Yahoo. The IDShield Individual Plan protects up to three devices, and the IDShield
Family Plan protects up to 15
